Let’s build something together.

Currently, I am an intern at an information technology company (named omitted for security purposes regarding software references) in Baton Rouge, and the role began during the summer of 2018. The company is a managed service provider (MSP) which utilizes a software to access and maintain all equipment accessible on individual clients’ networks. It is a small company with many employees working remotely. Due to this, effective and persistent communication are necessary when accomplishing work related tasks.

When I was hired, my initial role was deploying this software to 100 client companies containing approximately 2500 computers. This task did not come without difficulties pertaining to configuring and troubleshooting remote monitoring and ticketing software resulting in me facilitating training on these software and providing support to staff. After a successful deployment to 85% of the contract client computers, I began generating client network alerts and the support training I provided to the network engineers resulted in a company wide change in workflow which focuses on customer service. This allowed the company to proceed with replacing or upgrading Windows 7 computers for contract clients. Windows 7 support ended in January of 2020, which resulted in a need to upgrade or replace client computers before that date. In conjunction with the sales department, I located and accessed client equipment leading to replacement of these computers and revenue directly related to this project exceeding $100,000.

Many of these tasks lasted for several months and were not given deadlines. In order to accomplish them, I needed to be very driven and self motivated when following up and completing work with multiple coworkers each day. Though I did not specifically manage a person or group of people, I coordinated information and many tasks performed by others to complete the projects through effective communication. Because of my success, my supervisor has made several offers regarding opportunities to advance my position with the company.
